Camping at Yale Lake

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Two weeks ago Jared and I packed up our camping and fishing gear and headed south towards Mt. St. Helens. Since we now have our boat Olive, I wanted to go to a lake and do some fishing. We ended up at the Beaver Bay Campground on Yale Lake near the small town of Cougar, [...]

Taking Olive on the Sound

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

A couple weeks ago, I found a 12 foot aluminum Duroboat for sale on craigslist.com. A guy was selling the boat, trailer, 3 seats, oars, trolling motor, battery, two anchors, and 4 life vests for $1,900. I ended up buying it. The title says the boat was built in 1998 but you’d be hard pressed [...]

Christmas Tree Hunt

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

We made it out to Bainbridge Island Farms today to find a Christmas tree. The farm has already cut trees that they truck in but they also have trees growing that you cut yourself. Last year we cut our own and it lasted way longer than any tree we’ve had before. If the trees can [...]

Puppies Experience New Things

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

We took the puppies outside to experience some new sights and sounds. They got up close and personal with one of our chickens and the lawn mower was running in the yard. Mary tries to get them familiar with a lot of different noises early on so they are not afraid. See the puppies live.
